Awami league president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the presidium meeting that began at 7pm and continued till pid0779-al_meeting02222.jpg9pm. Awami League general secretary and LGRD minister Syed Asharful Islam said after the meeting that the Prime Minister would visit Mujibnagar on the occasion of Mujibnagar Day on April 17. The meeting, he said, also discussed latest political and economic situation prevailing in the country.


Besides, Ashraful virtually ruled out the possibility of the reshuffle of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 27-month-old cabinet. Quoting the Prime Minister, he told after the party’s presidium meeting at Ganobhaban that who can be experienced than those leaders who had performed the role of anchors and led the party at the crucial time (During the past army backed caretaker rule). The Prime Minister, during the meeting, also reminded that the killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had lurked in his own cabinet. “Killers of Bangabandhu were hiding in his own cabinet. Mustaq did not come from outside. He emerged from within the party,” Ashraful said quoting the Prime Minister as having said. Ashraful said: “The present cabinet is far experienced than that of 1996 where barring Abdus Samad Azad, all including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were inexperienced.”
